Dr John Besford

John Besford has worked in the field of removable prosthodontics for most of his career and with implants since 1985. He is interested in the aesthetics of denture provision as an instrument of resolving the dignity and privacy of people who have lost most or all of their teeth. Working with them and the dental team, one of his objectives is to produce dentures which are so realistic that even dentists assume that they are natural tissues. He has a referral practice in London and an international reputation as a freelance postgraduate teacher.

Mrs Ruth Bourke

Ruth Bourke has over 25 years of experience and knowledge as a dental technician. Her career began in England where she has held positions at Guy's Hospital, Eastman Post-graduate Institute, the Royal London Hospital and Manchester Metropolitan University. Ruth moved to the United States in 1996 to accept the post of prosthetic and oral maxillofacial technician at the University of Washington Dental School. From 2002 until 2004, Ruth managed the removables department at a commercial dental laboratory, and now owns and operates her own dental laboratory in Redmond, Washington that specialises in removable denture aesthetics and implants. Ruth's interest in removable prosthodontics began under the guidance of Dr. John Besford with whom she continues to lecture and teach "hands-on" seminars in England and Europe.

Stuart Marlow

Following completion of a five year apprenticeship including the City and Guilds qualification in Dental Technology, Stuart gained over twenty-five years' experience working in a number of laboratories, including three years in a Maxillo facial department. For fifteen years Stuart owned a private, quality, full service laboratory, expanding the laboratory and taking over two other laboratories in the area. In 1999, Stuart joined Schottlander as the Prosthetic Trainer.
